A vision statement is a vivid idealized description of a desired outcome that inspires, energizes and helps you create a mental picture of your target. It could be a vision of a part of your life, or the outcome of a project or goal.


The best vision statements for result areas describe outcomes that are five to ten years away, although some look even further out.

Vision: (your dream) Drives the organization into the future by creating a picture of what the organization intends to ultimately become.

Extrapolating from the above:

The vision of a province is its collective dream - our dream. It drives our institutions, organizations and citizens into the future by creating a picture of what we intend to ultimately become.

The question is, how do you write a vision statement?
