Gapminder is an excellent resource, very inspiring. Their long range goal is to get all the UN data available and accessible for free to everyone in the world. I fully support them in this goal. In addition, they seek further data from countries and organizations. We can also support them by getting Iran's data uploaded for global access. Why? Because it's really cool to have access to all this data.

Here's an example of how planiran has used gapminder software in an article.

Gapminder is a non-profit venture promoting sustainable global development and achievement of the United Nations Millennium Development Goals by increased use and understanding of statistics and other information about social, economic and environmental development at local, national and global levels.

We are a modern “museum” that helps making the world understandable, using the Internet.
