font size

Font size is an issue across any web application.  For some reason, English text looks bigger and more legible than Persian text in any given font size.  For example:

Standard size English - و این هم فارسی با فونت استاندارد

See?  It just looks too small to me.  One way to fix this is to simply add larger size tags to the farsi which look like this:

[size=4]فارسی اینجا[/size]

Let’s look at the effect of changing size.  Here is the code:

English فارسی
[size
=3] English فارسی  [/size]
[size
=4] English فارسی  [/size]
[size
=5] English فارسی  [/size]
[size
=6] English فارسی  [/size]

And here with uneven sizes to make the Persian as readable as the English:
English  [size=4]  فارسی  [/size]
English
[size=5]  فارسی  [/size]
English
[size=6]  فارسی  [/size]

And here it is as the above code will display in the wiki:

English - فارسی
English - فارسی
English - فارسی
English - فارسی
English - فارسی

And here with uneven sizes to make the Persian as readable as the English:
English -   فارسی
English -   فارسی
English -   فارسی

ّIn conclusion, my preference is to make Persian text at least 2 sizes bigger than English, e.g., set size=4.

Note, to make it easy, write the code first, e.g.,

[size=4]    [/size]

And then just type away inside the tags in Persian.

Of course, any user could also just increase the size of the font they see on screen by hitting their shift + keys, or whatever works for their browser.  But in that case, the English text will appear much too big.

On a deeper level, this, to me is a problem that goes back to the designs of fonts themselves.  I don’t know why the protocol is to have Persian font of a given size so much smaller in appearance than the English font.
