Vision Statement for Kohgiluye va Boyerahmad - چشم انداز برای کهگیلویه و بویراحمد
Creating a Sense of Place, Identity and Ownership
“The citizens of KBA enjoy a unique integration of culture, history, tradition, innovation and effective economic and environmental policies.”
One of the principles of “Smart Growth” is creating a sense of place. Telling the story of a place and the people that live there.
Inventory of unique assets - both seen and unseen. For environmental reasons, the Iranian plateau has a history of nomadism, which means that there is a transitory element that defies the accumulation of structural capital compared to other places. Instead, the assets are more temporal, ephemeral.
Our province has found ways to identify and express the many treasures we have, both fixed and ephemeral, the stories lost in the shifting elements. We are connected and ever connecting with the environment, history, and possibilities of the future.
Capitalize on the unique assets, and try to draw out the things that are unseen - the story of the place. Build up our iconic, spatia, historical, archaeological, legendary, mythological…capital.
Regional cooking, regional products, specialties, dependent on the people who inhabit the place and growth of their traditions and institutions.
Urban design also belongs here, establishing a “look” for the place, a palette. Local art and visual/audial/sensory expression and experience.
