Thoughts on Vision Statements
To me, a vision is one single bold statement that ties all the pieces together a broad way for the entire plan. Everyone should be able to readily relate to and SEE it the second they hear the statement. I tend to look for as concise a statement as possible. But, it could be as long as three to four lines, but not much longer or complicated. That would mean everything from the natural setting, ways of life (nomadic, modern, agricultural, urban, etc.), prosperitiy, quality of life and so on. The categories on the website seems more like goals and policies than vision talk. I treat the vision statement as the broad, umbrella theme from which the goals and policies stem.
